Laminated Glass
Safety glass is glazing obtained by alternating stacking of glass sheets and polyvinyl butyral (PVB) films. The role of the PVB film is to hold the glazing in place after an impact has broken the glass itself, the laminated glass thus provides passive protection, the possibility of using with double glazing or laminated on two sides. The glasses can, before assembly, be tempered or heat-strengthened.
Double Glazing
Insulating glazing consists of two (double glazing) or three (triple glazing) thin sheets of glass separated by a layer of air or dehydrated gas via a spacer. A gasket ensures the tightness and cohesion of the assembly.
Heat - Tempered Glass
Tempered glass is glass that has been treated to improve its mechanical properties. Tempered glass is two to five times stronger than ordinary glass1. It is part of the safety glasses.
Thermal tempering is obtained by placing the glass in an oven at around 600°C followed by sudden and rapid cooling.
Low-E Glazing
Also called “low-emissivity glass”, Low-e glass is a clear glass (which can be double or triple) comprising on one of its faces a layer of extremely fine metal oxide. This film promotes the passage of external light while blocking its quantity of ultraviolet rays, as well as the thermal radiation emitted by the fireplace.
Ordinary glass has an emissivity of 0.84, ie its radiation is 84%. The emissivity of a Low-e glass being 4%, allows the conservation of 96% of the heat that its surface receives and lets only 4% of this same heat escape towards the outside. 'outside.
Reflective Glass
During the manufacturing process, glass manufacturers add certain reflective metal oxides on a surface of clear or tinted glass or in the mass of the glass (pyrolytic) which contributes to increasing the rate of reflection. Acoustic Glazing
Acoustic laminated glass is also called silent laminated glass, it is suitable for housing, conventional and administrative buildings located near noisy sites such as train stations, airports, shopping centers.
